FY 2010 Work Plan (March 2009 — February 2010)

Data

Through collaboration with UVM’s Center for Rural Studies, update MRVPD’s data program, including inventorying existing reports, producing an updated Valley Data Report, establish a guide for data and reporting, and develop a database for future efforts.

Transportation

Collaborate with area trail organizations and the Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission to develop an online Regional Trail Network Database.

Valley Futures Network

Lead a UVM service learning class project focusing on furthering a variety of VFN initiatives.

Mad River Path Association/Mad River Valley Byway

Work closely with the Mad River Path Association to complete the Path from Moretown and Warren, including path location, grant work, and collaboration with ongoing Byways initiatives.

Affordable Housing

Work closely with the Mad River Housing Coalition to implement strategies in the Mad River Valley Housing Report from June 2006, including the continued development of the Accessory Apartment project, Valley Land Bank initiative, and assisting towns to meet regional housing thresholds.

Inter-town Collaboration and Education Initiative

Continue with Municipal Education Grant trainings and regular meetings of zoning administrators, conservation commissions, Selectboards, and other municipal officers within the three towns.

Energy

Continue with the Vermont Community Energy Mobilization Pilot Project, as well as coordinate the various energy related initiatives and groups in the Valley, while exploring Valley-wide projects.

Municipal Support

Assist the planning function of Valley towns, including support for municipal plan rewrites and rewrites of regulatory documents related to river corridors, wildlife habitat, housing, etc.
